Seeking 3rd Agriculture Science Teacher for a 3 teacher department
12 month contract
Bachelor's degree from accredited university
Must have a Valid Texas teacher certification for Agriculture Sciences
Experience preferred but should have at least one year student teaching or approved internship.
Demonstrated competency in agricultural science
Class "B"CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements preferred or willing to obtain.
Be willing to teach Floral Design, Livestock Production, Small Animal, Professional Communications, Principles of Ag, and Advanced Animal Science.
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Oversee Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAEP), including assisting students in selecting and managing projects.
Serve as advisor to local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter, including planning and conducting leadership, citizenship, cooperative, career development, and competitive activities for students at local, regional, and state level.
Be willing to work extended hours and weekends and travel with students.
Have knowledge of record book system and help students apply for awards and scholarships.
Ag trucks and trailers available for department use.
Crockett ISD is a class 3A school district located in the city of Crockett in Houston County, Texas. Crockett ISD covers 231 square miles and is the largest of the five school districts in Houston County. Crockett is located in the heart of East Texas, 45 miles east of Lufkin; 45 miles north of Huntsville, and 35 miles south of Palestine. Crockett ISD serves approximately 1388 students and employs close to 203 teachers and staff. The school district has four campuses, Early Childhood (PK-K); Elementary (1-5); Junior High (6-8); High School (9-12).
